Course Description: This course provides students with the necessary knowledge and skills to be able to meet the needs of an increasingly computer based business and industry sector. In addition, students who successfully complete the course are able to transfer to MIBT Diploma programs in computing & commerce, followed by relevant undergraduate degree programs at Deakin University or other Australian universities.

Major Studies: Information Systems & Design; Programming; Applied Computing & Technology; Accounting; Economics; Mathematics; Business Communications; Marketing & Management.

Entry Requirements: Year 11 or Mature Aged entry.

Course Duration: 2 semesters (8 months). Courses commence in March, June and October.

Mode of Study: Full-time or Part-time.

Accreditation: This course is recognised and endorsed by Government vocational educational and training authorities.

Articulation: Upon successful completion of the Cert IV in Business & Computing, students may enter a MIBT university level, Diploma in Commerce, Computing or Mass Communication.

Career Outcomes: Graduates of this course will have acquired significant skills to enhance their employment prospects in a range of business and computing occupations. Upon completion of the Certificate IV, graduates will also be eligible to undertake further study at university level.

Institution: Stott's Colleges

Course Description: This course is designed for students who have completed Year 11 or equivalent and who wish to undertake University preparation programs in business.  Students then proceed to Diploma programs and onto 2nd year university.

Major Studies: Computer Operations; Programming; Introduction to System Analysis and Design; Accounting; Mathematics for Computing; Management; Communication.

Course Description: This course is based on and equivalent to the first year of the Bachelor of Computing degree at Deakin University. It provides an alternative pathway to university studies for students who may not have been able to gain direct entry to university. Upon successful completion of the Diploma, students are eligible for direct entry into second year of a range of Deakin University Bachelor of Computing degree courses. Articulation into other Australian universities is also available.

Major Studies: Information Technology; Programming; Data Structures & Algorithms; Software Engineering; Microcomputer Application; Mathematics & Statistics; Scientific Communication; Data Collection & Analysis.
