Institution: Sydney Oxford English Institute

Course Description: Development of speaking, listening, reading and writing skills. The course also provides tuition in grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation.

Entry Requirements: Entry to the appropriate level is determined by on-arrival interview or placement test supervised by the Director of Studies.

Course Duration: Varies from 4 to 48 weeks.  Commences each Monday.

Mode of Study: Full-time; Part-time, daytime - evenings may be possible.

Accreditation: Provisional NEAS accreditation.

Course Fees: Overseas students - $230 per week plus $50 enrolment.  Within Australia students - $175 per week plus $50 enrolment fee.  If Visa is required $150 enrolment fee. Updated August 2000

Course Description: The course aims to provide language tuition to equip students in reading, writing, listening & speaking at a practical skill level for use in vocational or personal use. The language programme is organised to encompass typical scenarios relating to student's vocational goals.

Major Studies: Language - reading, writing, listening & speaking.

Entry Requirements: Applicants must have completed Year 10 or equivalent and have a sufficient personal motivation.

Course Duration: Variable.

Mode of Study: Flexible Delivery.

Accreditation: TAREC - Japanese 1812; Indonesian 7043; Mandarin 5692.

Career Outcomes: Tourism, Hospitality, Business, Flight Attending.

Course Fees: $30.00 per hour. Total course time based on individual assessment.

Other: Students attend an initial interview where prior learning and language aptitude are determined.
